Direct Buried Cable GYTA53

Underground Fiber Cable

Direct Buried Cable GYTA53

The GYTA53 is a heavy-duty double-armor double-jacket fiber optic cable specifically engineered for direct burial applications — no additional ducts or conduits required. Its dual-layer protection combines a corrugated PSP (steel) inner armor and PE outer sheath, delivering exceptional resistance to ground pressure, rodent attack, and moisture penetration. This makes GYTA53 the preferred choice for long-haul backbone networks, inter-city fiber links, and rural connectivity projects where trenching directly into soil is the most cost-effective deployment method.

The Direct Buried Double Armor Double Jacket Fiber Optic Cable GYTA53 is specifically designed for direct burial, allowing it to be buried directly in the ground without the need for extra protective ducts or conduits. This feature simplifies the installation process and reduces infrastructure costs. The fibers, 250μm, are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water-resistant filling compound. A steel wire, sometimes sheathed with polyethylene (PE) for cable with high fiber count, locates in the center of core as a metallic strength member. Tubes (and fillers) are stranded around the strength member into a compact and circular cable core. The cable core is filled with the filling compound to protect it from water ingress, over which a thin PE inner sheath is applied. After the PSP is longitudinally applied over the inner sheath, the cable is completed with a PE outer sheath.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes GYTA53 suitable for direct burial?

GYTA53 features double armor (steel wire central strength member + corrugated PSP) and double jacket (inner PE + outer PE), providing exceptional crush resistance and protection against ground pressure, rocks, rodent damage, and soil moisture — allowing it to be buried directly in the ground without additional ducts.

2. What is the recommended burial depth for GYTA53?

Standard burial depth is typically 1.2 meters, though this varies by local regulations and soil conditions. In rocky terrain, a sand bedding layer is recommended. Always follow local telecom infrastructure guidelines for trench preparation.

3. How does GYTA53 compare to GYTS for underground use?

GYTA53 is heavier-duty with double armor and double jacket, designed for direct soil burial. GYTS is lighter with single PSP armor, primarily intended for duct installations. If you're trenching directly into soil, GYTA53 is the appropriate choice. If you have existing ducts, GYTS offers a more cost-effective solution.

4. Is GYTA53 suitable for use in areas with high water tables?

Yes. GYTA53's multi-layer water-blocking system — including loose tube filling compound, 100% core filling, water-blocking yarns, PSP armor, and double PE jackets — provides reliable long-term protection even in saturated soil conditions and high-water-table environments.
